I'm still undecided... Seems most people think Ranger, but the people who don't all said they lost interest playing them.
I guess I will read up more on them, and figure it out that way.

If all you're going to do is PvE, monk all the way. You'll almost always get into parties, can solo farm, and you are probably better than the Hero AI, so it would be easier to breeze through missions.

I recommend my two favorite professions, Mesmer and Ranger. Mesmers can be challenging at first and might take a little getting used to, but fast casting deserves a lot more credit than most people give (a hard res in 2-3 seconds can save your whole party's ass in hard mode missions ). Rangers are a little bit overpowered IMO but still lots of fun and very versatile.
I don't recommend monk, as after awhile going through the same heal routines over and over gets old pretty fast.

I myself have played as all three classes yet my main is a ranger.
Can you guess which class I'm going to suggest?
Thats right, a monk, lol. Reason I suggest a monk is simply because of what you said in description of what you were seeking in a new class. "Something different yet very fun to play".
Well you definately don't get any more different than a monk. A monk is one of the most rewarding classes to play, its certainly a great feeling when your team is in a heated battle and your group is in trouble. Slowly your party members are dying, hope is fading and suddenly *voom* everyone's health is shooting back up to full. The battle begins to turn and suddenly your victorious as the last foe falls to the ground. It may have been the warrior or the ele or whatever that struck the final blow but it was the monks who supported the team and held them together.
Personally for me starting out a monk was very boring, theres really no challenge at first as everyone starts out in starter areas. The real reward comes though when you get to playing in end missions/elite areas. Theres a level of pressure and your adrenaline is pumping and you just really get absorbed into the game moreso than any other class. Theres a lvl of concentration required in monking that isn't necessary for any other profession. You take your eyes off the screen for a little bit as a warrior and when you come back really not much has changed. You do that as a monk and several party members may have died.
Thats the main reason I suggest a monk, its a different experience when playing.
Don't get me wrong, ranger and rit are very fun classes also but they share connections to professions you've already done.
A ranger is very versatile, you can play as a spiker, interrupter, conditioner, runner, even a little bit of tanking. A ranged attacker that can deal a fair amount of damage while also being able to support the team in the form of spirits and supress enemies with wide spreading conditions. Thats all things you will have experienced in the classes you've already played however. Theres also the problem of how rangers aren't really accepted in end game elite areas, you're going to have to have a guild if you ever want to bring a ranger into DoA, (either that or ursan it). If you were just starting out without having played the other classes I definately would have recommended ranger.
A ritualist is a class I haven't had too much experience with so I can't really pass judgement here. Overall though ritualists share many similarities with monks(resto rit), necro (communing) and ele, (channeling). Now I know that may be a noob way of looking at a rit but I fully admit I don't have too much experience with the class. I've played my rit mainly in AB and only a little bit in factions as hes only made it as far as senji's corner.

My three characters are: warrior, assassin, paragon.
You have a warrior, so I'll explain my reasonings for the other two.
Assassin: To me, there isn't another class in the game that simply looks more bad ass than the assassin. Have you seen the way they run? It just screams "awesome!" Whenever I kill with mine, I love the adrenaline rush. The ability to hop from person, to person killing each one. I kill one, within seconds, I'm on the next person, they die, I'm off to the next. Unfortunately, they take lots of skill to play effectively. The typical assassin uses builds from wiki, and usually don't know how to use them to their fullest. If you have great reflexes, and want to play a class that just gives you that rush in pvp, go for an assassin. In PvE, missions may be hard, as because assassin players ruined their legacy, you may have people refusing to take you in.
Paragon: Nerfs...nerfs...nerfs...who cares?! Nerfs give it a reason to use it. Try to make it good. I've seen it before, good paragons. It can happen, you could be next. They're just extremely fun to play. In my opinion, the dervish ruined the game more than the paragon did. Their armor (at least for females) are amazing looking, and the way they hold the spear is crying out that they have the desire to head shot someone. They can be great support if you know how to use them. When we farm dungeons, I always bring Hayda along for that good support the team needs. Use them right, there can be really excellent rewards.
I did the three, to have a character start from each campaign. The other classes don't attract me as much as these three. Mesmer would be my fourth choice.

Monk for the following reasons
Solo Farming
Get into any party
different than other classes you have played
most rewarding to play (imo keeping an entire party alive is a pretty big feat compared to running up with 123 skills on a warrior bar)
Will be able to play all games with new things for YOUR class (armor in all campaigns etc)

Mesmer is probably the most potent thing in PvE, if you know how to use it there - which is very uncommon.
Ranger is useful across the game, but you will need to be ready to switch your build a lot.
Monk is a lot of fun if you have the right mindset for it - if you enjoy playing without doing any offense. Either you group and others do it all, or you bring heroes and henchies and they do all the offense. You're a step removed - ensuring they survive the process.

Wrong, they don't offer anything PvE-wise that would make them worthy bringing. Doesn't mean I'd exclude them in PUGs, no, never, but calling them potent would mean they'd easily replace Rodgort-Spammers, Paragons, Warriors, BHA-Rangers anytime.
Edit: I'd make a monk or a paragon.

I would also suggest to the OP that the mesmer is worth trying out. They are a lot of fun to play with, even though they take quite a bit of getting used to. The majority of their skills are highly situational and needs you to think on a different level to pull things off.
It's also a very misunderstood profession because nothing they do is direct and very little of what they do is noticeable to the untrained eye (people tend to prefer things that they can more readily see and understand, and too many are quick to dismiss the mesmer's unique talents as useless parlour tricks).
